A dirt bike rider was hospitalized in critical condition after crashing into other vehicles in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood Friday.

Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesman Maurice Matthews said emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Cedarville Street around 6:20 p.m. for a dirt bike accident.

First responders discovered the man on the bike struck two vehicles.

Medics transported the rider to UPMC Presbyterian hospital. No other injuries were reported. The other drivers remained on the scene.

The dirt bike and one other vehicle had to be towed, Matthews reported.

Liberty Avenue was reopened just under an hour after the crash.
