A man riding an electric skateboard was struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood, police said.

Medics took the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was in stable condition, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesman Maurice Matthews.

Emergency dispatchers received a report of the crash at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Baum Boulevard about 3:40 p.m.

Initially, a Pittsburgh officer who happened to be nearby attended to the male victim in the street.

The person’s age and home residence were not released.

The driver of the vehicle who struck him remained on the scene.

Few details were available about the incident.

“During the initial investigation, officers learned two males were riding electric skateboards when the victim was struck,” Matthews said.

Pittsburgh police’s Collision Investigation Unit processed the scene and continue to investigate.
