Whether you’re a walker, a biker, a dancer or a driver, it’s a great weekend to be on the move in Pittsburgh. Here are some destinations right in your backyard to check out.

OpenStreetsPGH

Three and a half miles of car-free fun will stretch through Shadyside, East Liberty, Larimer, Point Breeze, Homewood and Wilkinsburg on Sunday. Bike, run, play, dance, do whatever you want — all in the middle of the street. Programming in several hubs and along the route will provide activities, live performances, lessons, information sessions and snacks.

Plus, take the opportunity to stroll or bike your way to dozens of local businesses. Enjoy Pittsburgh’s best coffee, barbecue, desserts, noodles, pizza and more. Along the way are also art galleries, dance institutes and other cultural landmarks to stop in. And don’t forget to shop for records, garden supplies, groceries, hardware and much more.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in the East End. See the full route and more places to stop and things to do at bikepgh.org.

The Clarks at Stage AE

Rock band The Clarks has been a regional staple for more than 30 years, and their songs “Penny on the Floor,” “Cigarette” and “Born Too Late” are Western Pennsylvania classics. Enjoy a summer night with the band at Stage AE on the North Shore on Saturday.

Joining the band will be Melinda and the Night Sky and Brooke Surgener & The Bandits. Part of the proceeds will benefit Magee-Womens Research Institute. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show will be held outdoors, rain or shine. Get tickets at promowestlive.com.

Pride on Penn

The party will include a drag show hosted by Dixie Surewood; a Pride Bar from Bakery Square’s City Kitchen offering festive drinks; body artists to glam up your look; music from a DJ; local queer vendors; photo opps; and an afterparty at Tako Torta. A portion of each $10 ticket will go to Proud Haven, a nonprofit aiding LGBTQIA+ youth and adults in the region who face homelessness or housing insecurity.

The party will go from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at Bakery Square in East Liberty. Get tickets and details at bakery-square.com.

Parks on Tap

The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy will bring its Parks on Tap Tour to Schenley Park Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Visitor’s Center.

The Parks Conservancy is collaborating with Eleventh Hour Brewing to bring delicious beers to Schenley Park for the “beer garden.” There will also be a selection of local bites from food trucks, and you can feel free to sip and stroll through Schenley Park’s beautiful trails throughout the evening. Eleventh Hour has even created the limited edition Summer in the Park Lager to celebrate this occasion and lend a light, delicious taste to your after-work park hangout.

The beer garden will run from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday. To see all of the dates and details, visit pittsburghparks.org.
