Kristin Emery, who’s offered forecasts at KDKA-TV since 2012, posted to social media that she plans to retire.
“I am forecasting a major change for me starting August 28th: Retirement!” Emery wrote. “After 37 years in broadcasting and 13 years of it here at KDKA, I will officially retire at the end of the month.”
Emery said she’s had a “a wonderful, exciting, adventurous and fulfilling career,” but she and her husband are ready to begin a “next chapter.”
KDKA news director Shawn Hoder did not immediately respond to a question about whether the position will be filled, which would see the station maintain its current staff of five forecasters.
