Two people were taken to a hospital Tuesday from a fire at a Green Tree auto body shop, fire officials told Trib news partner WTAE.

Those injured were an employee at the shop and a person who lives in an apartment above the garage. WTAE reported the fire happened in a building that houses European Auto Specials and Joe’s Auto Classic.

Fire officials said they believe the blaze started in a vehicle inside the mechanic shop, but the Allegheny County fire marshal is investigating, WTAE reported.

Emergency crews were called to the 300 block of Noblestown Road just after 4:30 p.m., according to Allegheny County dispatchers. The blaze was extinguished by about 6 p.m. Video from the scene showed enormous flames and a building with extensive damage. Several cars were seen with fire damage.

Albert Lamb told WTAE that he lost everything in the apartment he lived in above the shop.

“I just ran down the hill, I see the flames coming out of the garage,” he said.
