Firefighters battled a blaze in Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood Wednesday

Firefighters battled a blaze in Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported at 6:40 a.m. in a two-story house in the 2700 block of Glen Mawr Street, according to authorities.

Sheraden is located the city’s West End.

First responders encountered heavy smoke and flames shooting through an attic window. A second alarm was struck to summon additional help to the scene, according to emergency dispatchers.

All the occupants in the home were able to get out safely, according to an Allegheny County 911 supervisor.

One of the occupants was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation but did not require hospitalization, he said.

As of 7:45 a.m. firefighter were still working to extinguish the fire.
