A 22-year-old man died Monday night after a family member drove him to a Pittsburgh hospital, police said.

It happened as police responded to a three-round ShotSpotter notification in the 1400 block of Harlow Street in Chartiers City in the city’s West End.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Lontae Smith, 22, of Sheraden.

The man appeared to be the only person who was shot, police said.
