All of the candidates for Gateway school board will appear on at least ballot in the general election.

With all precincts reporting, the Democratic ballot saw Janette Beighel, Leslie McBride, Anthony Mock and Rick McIntyre take the top four spots. Beighel and McBride both earned just over 18% of 10,504 votes.

On the Republican ballot, McBride took the top spot with just over 20% of votes, followed by Shirley Ewart with 19%, Len Young with 18.7% and Roger Wilson with 17.7%.

“I’m just honored that the voters are entrusting me again with their children’s education,” said McBride, who hopes to continue adding technology to students’ education options.

“We’ve recently added some (artificial intelligence) classes, and with the state standards changing, we have a new science curriculum coming in,” McBride said.

All candidates were cross-filed. Nearly 15,000 votes were cast in the election.

All results are unofficial until certified by the county’s board of elections.
