A Pittsburgh firefighter was injured while battling a one-alarm fire in Wilkinsburg Wednesday afternoon.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesman Maurice Matthews, firefighters with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire responded to an abandoned structure at the 500 block of Singer Place around 2 p.m. On scene, one firefighter suffered a fractured ankle. They were transported by medics to Mercy Hospital.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes.

No other injuries were reported. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
