Pittsburgh police were investigating explosions Sunday night in the city’s Lawrenceville and Hill District

Pittsburgh police were investigating explosions Sunday night in the city’s Lawrenceville and Hill District neighborhoods.

Police and firefighters went to the 3600 block of Penn Avenue in Lawrenceville in response to reports that an improvised explosive device was thrown from a moving vehicle just after 9 p.m.

A parked vehicle was damaged, but no one was hurt, police said.

Police were looking for a white pickup.

Police were also investigating reports of a possible explosion in the 200 block of Dinwiddie Street in the Hill District just after 10:30 p.m.

Police were reviewing video footage from the second incident.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call police at 412-323-7800.
