Parishioners and guests of Holy Family Parish’s Our Lady of Joy in Plum enjoyed a variety of foods at the church’s Friday fish frys this Lenten season.

The church at 2000 O’Block Road recently renovated its social hall with new drywall, sconces and a paint job among other upgrades. It seats a few hundred people.

Organized by Knights of Columbus Council 4242, the fish fry featured weekly specials including crab cakes and pierogies in addition to its traditional fried fish and shrimp dinners and sides.

About 300 pounds of fish was served each week from Ash Wednesday through Good Friday,

Volunteer Faith Sisk said the parish is blessed with many bakers who supply delicious pastries each week which were also available for sale at the fish fry. They included cakes, cookies, pies and other baked goods.
