Mintwood Street in Lawrenceville was closed for a few hours after a Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority truck fell into a hole Saturday afternoon.
PWSA workers were working on a nearby project earlier in the day. A private contractor was working on a sewer line for a private property in the 3600 block, PWSA spokeswoman Rachel Rampa said.
Between noon and 1 p.m., the PWSA dump truck fell into the hole while driving down the road.
Rampa said there were no injuries and the truck sustained no damage. The truck was removed fairly quickly, she said.
A Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman said police had left the area as of around 5 p.m., but Public Works arrived to put up wooden barriers that are still in place. The vehicle is out of the hole, spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.
Cruz said police took an incident report because the driver reported some shoulder pain. He was not transported by Emergency Medical Services, but they were on the scene.
Rampa said the authority is still trying to reach the private contractor to see if they can secure the site.
If they can’t, the road may need to stay closed.
