A tossed firework led to a shooting Friday in Beaver Falls, authorities said.
Police were called at 10:30 p.m. Friday to the 300 block of 12th Street where they found a 47-year-old man shot twice in the leg. He was taken to a local medical facility before being flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Police Chief David Johnson posted online that an arrest warrant was issued for Jaden Stull, 20, of Beaver Falls.
According to police, the confrontation between Stull and the victim started after someone threw fireworks into an area where a group of children were standing. Stull ran from the scene and pointed the gun at the victim, who tackled Stull.
Stull fired about four shots, two of which struck the victim in the thigh and shin. One of the bullets struck Stull’s hand. He is in stable condition, according to police.
Stull is charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault and one count each of reckless endangerment, simple assault and illegal firearm possession.
