For the first time, Starbucks is acknowledging its secret menu.
Though countless “secret menu” items at Starbucks have been circulating online and on social media for years, this week, the coffee giant made the secret menu official.
Starbucks Rewards members can now order the top drink customizations, including twists on fan favorites and customer creations, in the “offers” tab of the Starbucks app at participating stores. This section of the app will regularly feature new drink customizations, Starbucks said Monday.
The secret menu items can be ordered in store, too, by telling the barista the desired customizations.
The secret menu was inspired by the popular Starbucks Not-So-Secret Menu broadcast channel on Instagram, the company said. The channel can be joined from the Starbucks Instagram page.
Currently, there are four new drink customizations available on the secret menu in the Starbucks app:
1. Cookies on top: A cold brew with two pumps of vanilla syrup, Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam and cookie crumble topping
2. Dragonfruit glow-up: A twist on the Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade Refresher by adding peach juice blend, having it blended and topped with Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam
3. Lemon, tea & pearls: A combination of black tea and lemonade, with raspberry-flavored popping pears
4. Just add white mocha: A spin on the Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso by adding White Chocolate Mocha Sauce and topping it with Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam
Secret menu items that have circulated on social media in the past feature flavors like Thin Mint, Butterbeer, cotton candy and more, Today reported.
The launch of Starbucks’ secret menu comes just a few months after CEO Brian Niccol simplified the chain’s menu, cutting back the frappuccino options, according to USA Today.
