The state Game Commission is looking for information related to the illegal shooting of several deer in the Jenner Township area of Somerset County, between Boswell and Acosta.

Based on an investigation into the shootings, the Game Commission said in a statement that it believes the deer were shot last week and left to decompose.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Game Commission’s Southwest Region Office at 724-238-9523 or the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-888-PGC-8001 or online at https://bit.ly/3airvh4.

Regardless of the conditions brought on by covid-19, it remains illegal to shoot game or wildlife out of season, and all state laws, seasons and bag limits remain in effect.

State game wardens remain on duty and are responding to incidents.
