Sewickley Tavern remains for sale more than six months after it went on the market.

Howard Hanna Real Estate agent Michael Levenson said the property at 409 Beaver St. was put on the market between mid-November and early December.

The listed price for the “turn-key restaurant” is $2.3 million, according to its posting.

Allegheny County assessed the property at $1.204 million, according to the Allegheny County Real Estate portal.

Fellow listing agent Betsy Lyons, who has been selling property in the Sewickley area for years, declined in late June to discuss how many interested buyers, if any, there have been so far.

The listing said the property offers 3,670 square feet of “contemporary, high-performance space” and “is ready to become the next dining destination in Sewickley.”

The restaurant owned by Courtney Yates and managed by former Army combat engineer Chris DeRose first opened in March 2020 and had a series of closures due to the ever-changing covid-19 pandemic regulations.

Then-Gov. Tom Wolf ordered Allegheny County bars and restaurants to stop dine-in service in mid-March 2020 to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

The tavern opened for about two weeks in May 2020 for takeout and delivery before it closed again in preparation for dine-in customers.

It formally opened at limited capacity in June 2020 and permanently closed within four years.

One of its well-known menu selections was scotch duck eggs — hard-boiled eggs incorporated with chorizo sausage, mole and hollandaise sauce and cilantro.

The facility is environmentally friendly with solar panels, acoustical ceiling systems, noise-measuring sensors and air quality monitors.

Its outdoor bar was also very popular.

Yates did not respond to multiple messages seeking comment as of presstime on June 26.
