Teen dies at shooting scene in Wilkinsburg

One of three boys handling a handgun in a Wilkinsburg home died when the weapon discharged, according to Allegheny County

One of three boys handling a handgun in a Wilkinsburg home died when the weapon discharged, according to Allegheny County Police.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the boy as Marcus Gibson, 15.

According to Allegheny County Police, Wilkinsburg police and paramedics were called to the 1300 block of Franklin Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. They found the boy dead inside a residence.

Detectives learned that three boys were handling the weapon when it went off, hitting Gibson.

Detectives were consulting with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s office as they continued to investigate.
