Nesbit’s Lanes, a longtime bowling alley in Plum, will be closing until August for renovations after a tree fell on the building in February.

A statement on the bowling alley’s Facebook page said the building would shutter for “safety and liability reasons” beginning May 19 for up to two and half months to repair its roof.

Ownership and management decided to use the closure to also entirely renovate the space.

“We are very excited for the renovations to be done,” Shawn Edgar, a manager at the alley said. “We’re excited for our customers and our league players to see what we’ve done.”

Edgar said the renovations would include moving the front desk, all new couches and furniture, and new floors.

During the closure, summer bowling leagues will be canceled.

The 2025 Nesbit’s Lanes Open, a tournament dating to the 1970s, will also be postponed indefinitely. The announcement said Nesbit’s might hold the tournament in August if repairs proceed smoothly.

Nesbit’s Lanes dates to 1947 and has been continuously owned by the Nesbit family.
