Everything was “by women and for women” at the Evening Social hosted by Women of Westmoreland on June 29 at Cavallo Fields Event Venue in Unity.

First, the group comprises women members of the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce.

Second, the venue itself is woman-owned by sisters-in-law Annette Sackett and Meghan Andrighetti (along with their spouses Rick Sackett and John Andrighetti).

Third, the food and beverages for the evening were supplied by women-owned and women-run businesses.

The organization’s mission is to promote, support and empower women leaders in all professions; facilitate woman-to-woman networking and mentoring; provide educational programs for personal and professional growth and development; and recognize women for their accomplishments and service.

Members meet quarterly for events such as the social.

They enjoyed a champagne punch and heavy hors d’ouevres reception, dinner of chicken Marsala and pasta by Angelo’s Cucina and Catering of Grapeville and cabaret-style musical entertainment by Westmoreland Performing Arts.

The venue features a renovated farmhouse and barn dating to 1860 amid rolling farm fields near Pleasant Unity. The reception took place in the farmhouse’s modern addition and patio, while dinner was served in the rustic-but-elegant barn.

Event chair was Lisa Kennedy, the chamber’s director of business development. Committee members included Anne-Marie Welty, Heather Graham, Ella Antimarino, Angela O’Brien, Rebecca Robbins, Vickie Loucks, Justina Latimer, Lisa Krall, Tawnya Rockwell and Nicole Rebyanski.

Seen: Mandy Zalich, Suzanne Wright, Mary Catherine Motchar, Dana Bauer, Bobbi Yothers, Diann Repasky, Terri Dominick, Natalie Gordon, Tracy Grace, Amy Porado, Maria LaVelle, Linda Stein, Sarah Rowe, Darrah Resnick, Gina Falcon, Michelle VanHorn, Tracy Dripps, Tracy Showman, Becci Cerk and Robin Allison.
