A Penn Township man is accused of assaulting a Manor police officer during a neighborhood dispute in Harrison City, township police said.

Police said Kurt J. Pfeiffer, 58, of Harrison City resisted arrest on Aug. 19 by tucking in his arms and twisting his body, causing the officer to fall, according to the criminal complaint filed by township police on Aug. 23.

Manor officer Hailey Warrick suffered a knee injury, two deep lacerations and abrasions during the arrest. It took several attempts by multiple officers to bring Pfeiffer under control, police said.

Police said they confronted Pfeiffer in response to a reported dispute at about 9 p.m. Aug. 19 after Pfeiffer allegedly threatened a neighbor and his family.

Pfeiffer also allegedly threatened to shoot police officers.

Pfeiffer was charged with a felony count of aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of stalking, repeated communications to cause fear, terroristic threats, resisting arrest, simple assault and harassment. He also was charged with summary offenses of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

He was arraigned before Penn Township District Judge Rebecca Tyburski and placed in the Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bond, pending a preliminary hearing on Sept. 3.
