The Pennsylvania Game Commission proposed three Sundays in November when licensed hunters will be able to harvest permitted game, repeating the Sunday hunting schedule introduced last fall.
New this year, the commission plans to expand the species that hunters can target on two of those dates.
During its January meeting, the commissioners gave preliminary approval for archery deer hunting on Nov. 14, bear hunting on Nov. 21 and firearms deer hunting on Nov. 28.
On Nov. 14 and 21, hunters also would be able to target any other game that is in season at the time, except for migratory game birds and wild turkeys.
Among the species newly available for hunting on those dates would be red, gray, black and fox squirrels; cottontail rabbits; pheasants; bobwhite quail; raccoon; opossum, striped skunks and weasels; and porcupines.
All of Pennsylvania’s proposed hunting and trapping seasons for 2021-22, including Sunday dates, can be viewed on the Game Commission website at pgc.pa.gov by selecting “Seasons.”
The seasons are subject to change before their scheduled adoption at the Game Commission meeting on April 16 and 17.
