• Loyalhanna Creek is teeming with trout thanks to a recent stocking. Anglers are enjoying a consistent trout bite while using spinners and jigs for their setup. Live bait is restricted at the moment as visitors only are allowed to use artificial lures.
• Anglers fishing Conemaugh River Lake are seeing a good deal of action with walleye and crappie. Minnows and jigs primarily are being used for the walleye, and the crappie are nibbling at jigs. There also have been a few bass and perch catches of late, per reports.
• Keystone Lake is offering up rainbow trout to fishermen who are using minnows and paste bait, according to reports.
• The trout fishing is heating up at Blue Spruce Lake after it received a recent stocking. Setups that include minnows and waxworms are giving way to a number of catches.
• The walleye bite may be slowing a bit at Pymatuning Reservoir, but anglers still are catching a couple here and there in addition to some larger perch catches. The muskie fishing still is going well, as is bass fishing.
• In Allegheny County, the Monongahela is harboring a variety of fish, including walleye, smallmouth bass and the occasional hybrid striped bass. Minnows appear to be fetching productive results. There has been some success here lately with catfish at night, as well.
• The crappie are biting at Shenango Reservoir, according to reports, with fishermen using a number of different soft plastic baits to success.
• Anglers at Cascade Quarry are seeing a steady trout bite, particularly when rigging up with spinners or spoons.
• Neshannock Creek is a solid spot to visit for fly fishermen that are looking to pick up a few trout. Anglers are reporting success using wooly bugger flies, specifically.
• Fishermen trolling Quemahoning Reservoir are reeling in bass and northern pike.
• The stretch of the Allegheny River that goes through Venango County is populated with an active school of smallmouth bass. The bass are biting at plenty of different baits, including spinnerbaits, jerkbaits and tubes. There also have been some larger walleye catches here of late, according to reports.
• In Washington county, anglers fishing the Monongahela River are doing well with flathead catfish, particularly during the dawn and dusk hours of the day.
