It will be a summer of soccer at Highmark Stadium.

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds, along with the entire USL Championship, announced their full 2023 schedule Monday and the bulk of the home games will be in June, July and August.

Pittsburgh opens the season on the road against Birmingham on March 11, followed by a trip to Memphis on March 18 before the home opener, a rare Friday home game, against Miami on March 24.

After the home opener, the Hounds play five of their next six matches on the road, with the only home game on April 15 against Rio Grande Valley.

Of the Riverhounds’ 17 home games in USL Championship play, 10 are in June through August, including marquee matchups with Louisville (July 1), Memphis (July 29) and Tampa Bay (Aug. 5).

They’ll welcome Sacramento on July 8 for the return of last year’s leading scorer, Russell Cicerone, who signed with Sacramento in December, and former standout goalkeeper Danny Vitiello.

The final regular season home game is against Tulsa on Sept. 30 before two road games at Tampa Bay and Detroit to close out the schedule.

For the first time, the Riverhounds will play every team in the USL Championship in the regular season. They play each Eastern Conference team twice and Western Conference team once.
