The misery continued for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Saturday night with a 2-0 road loss to Las Vegas Lights FC.

Khori Bennett scored a pair of goals and Raiko Arozarena stopped a penalty for Las Vegas (5-7-6).

The Riverhounds (3-8-6) have been shut out in five straight games. They’re winless in their last nine matches (0-5-4).

Las Vegas took a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute when Bennett’s turning shot deflected off defender Danny Griffin and trickled inside the post.

Griffin had a chance to even the score when he was shoved down in the penalty area in the 52nd minute. Not only did Arozarena stop Griffin’s penalty, he also turned back Enoch Mushagalusa’s point-blank rebound bid.

With the Riverhounds pressing to tie the score, Bennett scored his second goal of the game in the 87th minute on a counterattack with teammate Jean-Claude Ngando.

The Riverhounds will get some much-needed home cooking when they play their next four games at home. They’ll host Monterey Bay at 7 p.m. Saturday at Highmark Stadium.
