Winning Horizon League Player of the Year honors helped Alvaro Folgueiras gain national attention.
So there was plenty of interest when he entered the transfer portal.
On Sunday, he committed to play in one of the top conferences in the country.
Folgueiras, who helped lead Robert Morris to the Horizon League regular season and tournament championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament, will continue his career at Iowa, according to an ESPN report.

A 6-foot-9 sophomore forward, Folgueiras averaged 14.1 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game this past season. He also shot 41.3% from 3-point range. Folgueiras helped RMU finish 26-9 after a 91-80 loss to No. 2 Alabama in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Folgueiras, a native of Spain, was among eight Colonials to enter the transfer portal after the season. Junior small forward Amarion Dickerson previously committed to Southern Cal.
Duquesne’s Edwards enters portal
Maximus Edwards, a 6-5 guard who averaged 8.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game at Duquesne this past season, entered the transfer portal, according to 247HSHoops.

Edwards is a 6-foot-5 guard out of Samford, Connecticut who began his career at George Washington before playing one season at Duquesne.

He played the previous two seasons at George Washington.
Edwards is the seventh member of the Dukes to enter the transfer portal this offseason.
